Launching Supporters for Life

Today I’m proud to share with you the launch of Asteron Life’s new brand platform, ‘Supporters for life’.

Supporters for life is an evolution of our brand purpose, Celebrate Life. It captures what we are all about – working together with customers and advisers to provide sustainable, long-term insurance solutions. It means that we are able to flex to support our customers and create unique products and solutions that will meet their needs at each stage of their journey.

Below are some of the ways Asteron Life shows our commitment to being your Supporters for life.

Developing innovative product solutions

Asteron Life has a proud history of being quick to market with progressive, customer-focussed solutions. Over time, we have built up a suite of products that enable you to create fully customised life insurance solutions for your clients.

One example is the way Asteron Life allows a combination of stepped and level premiums within a policy, to support long term affordability – a key customer pain point. We also led the market in the introduction of Loss of Earnings Income Protection Cover and we were the first to clinically align the heart attack definition in Trauma. More recent innovations include our Continuous Trauma, Major Trauma and Workability covers.

We continue to focus on using customer and adviser feedback to create unique and sustainable product innovations.

Supporting our customers

We have been supporting New Zealanders for more than 140 years, and were proud to get recent feedback from many of you that Asteron Life set the bar when it came to supporting your clients through Covid-19.

We utilised our comprehensive support options for customers facing financial hardship, including premium holidays that customers weren’t required to pay back. But we also went further, extending premium relief options to some 50,000 policies that didn’t already have those benefits included, and maintaining cover during premium relief periods in the event customers needed to make a claim.

Supporting advisers

We know you have had your hands full with new regulation and supporting your clients through challenging times. Supporters for life means supporting you to adapt to a changing environment through ongoing specialist training from our Professional Standards team, continuous reviews of our existing products and adviser platforms, and keeping you up to date with our education series and webinars. We are also investing in robotics, automation and upskilling to improve the service we offer.

I’m excited to launch this new brand platform and for you to experience it even more, not just in how Asteron Life looks, but in what we do.

Advisers are a critical part of how Asteron Life supports customers through their life’s journey and as always, I want to thank you for role you play in enabling us to be Supporters for life.
