Advisers complete first online applications through AsteronConnect platform

Last week Asteron Life released the second stage of AsteronConnect, a new device-friendly quote and application tool for life insurance advisers.
The new platform uses sophisticated underwriting capability that allows advisers to complete customer applications online. Straightforward applications can be approved within minutes, dramatically reducing the amount of time advisers and customers need to spend on paperwork.
The platform also allows advisers to provide a full illustration of quotations when working with customers. Fully optimized for tablets, it graphically illustrates the benefits of level or stepped premium structures and makes it easy to add different premium structures to benefits on the same policy.
“We’ve worked with a large group of advisers and developers to create AsteronConnect,” said Cris Knell, Executive General Manager Distribution. “The platform will make the quote and application process a lot easier for the advisers we work with, and will also improve the experience of our intermediary partners and our mutual customers.”
Part of Asteron Life’s focus was to develop an application that is both user and tablet-friendly and enables a paperless process. Advisers can choose to use AsteronConnect on the go, and can even link two tablets so a couple can work on the same application simultaneously.
“This is just the first step on the journey to a new way of working for Asteron Life,” said Mr Knell. “Advisers will be able to talk through different options with their customers and adjust and refine a dynamically changing quotation based on their requirements, and all at the touch of a button.”
Customers will also benefit from being able to apply for cover on the spot, and sign documents electronically.
Over 60 applications were completed using AsteronConnect within the first week of launch. Asteron Life will continue to deliver webinar training to advisers to familiarise them with the new system.
“We’ve received really positive feedback from the advisers who have used the system so far.” said Mr Knell. “They’ve told us that it’s much quicker, and they can see the benefits of the tool straight away.”
